various, random creative expressions / writings, inspired partially by 100 popular songs (songs that somewhat begin with a leading hook of a guitar.)

Day 4:

“What I Like About You” (1980) by the Romantics

“What I Like About You” (1980) by the Romantics

What I like about you is the way you flick your fringe off your forehead, when you talk to me.

What I like about you is the way you act like a little girl when a scary part of the movie comes on – you cuddle into my shoulder and say things with a lisp, like “scary wary” and “itsy bitsy.”

What I like about you is the way you can reverse that behaviour in a second, and turn into the strong confident (shitty attituded) woman I know, when I tell you only stupid people are scared of this movie.

What I like about you is how you really don’t need me … or a man, in general.

What I like about you is your spectacular god given arse.

What I like about you is how quiet you become in front of my parents.

What I like about you is how loud you get when you’re drunk.

What I like about you is how your glasses sit on the bridge of your nose and how sexy they make you look.

What I like about you is your snorting laugh that infects everyone, with laughter.

What I like about you is your smile and how that makes me feel that everything is fine with us.

What I like about you is your dedication to your cause – though dragging me to every single one of your fundraisers can be incredibly tiresome.

What I like about you is how nasty you can be to, hopefully, anyone, but me. Keep talking about that bitch of a colleague you work with – as long as it ain’t me.

What I like about you is that naughty grin you put on, when you’re in the mood.

What I like about you is your bank account always manages to have more in it, than mine.

What I like about you is how you manage to take off your own bra, in one flowing back swoop, whereas it usually takes me a few seconds to figure out where to unlatch it.

What I like about you is how the radio station in your car is not the same one in your office.

What I like about you is that that you have no Mediterranean ancestry whatsoever, but still manage to look Hispanic on some summer days.

What I like about you is, beyond any doubt, your cooking is better than mine.

What I like about you is how you never want to get into an argument with your grandmother, but strategically manage to debate peacefully with her.

What I like about you is your dimples.

What I like about you is how you told all our friends how easy “The Hunger Games” was to read but that “50 Shades of Grey” was just plain fuckin’ stupid.

What I like about you is when you wore that Wicca necklace at the markets last week, you looked like Kate Capshaw in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”

What I like about you, is your brother – she is fucking cool!

What I like about you is the way you’d rather download a TV show episode rather than stream it. It takes up more space, but you won’t budge.

What I like about you is the way you pronounce “extraordinary” as two words, rather than abridge it together.

What I like about you … is also a song by the Romantics.
